Happy New Year!!!

New Years Eve, is seems to be one of those things that you either love or hate; Personally, I fall into the love category for a few reasons.

Firstly, I love setting resolutions, ok so they may not always work out how I had hoped but having and setting goals is a good and positive thing. Sure you can set goals at any time of the year but i find New Years Eve acts as a sort of reminder/ benchmark.

new-year

It feels like someone hits the restart/ refresh button. Maybe it’s a little bit to do with that fact that I generally get 3 weeks holiday around this time of year but I feel like it’s more than just that. I get a wave of motivation and energy that just wasn’t there a few days prior.

The 3rd is that I use this time for reflection, appreciation and improvement. A few years ago my friend Celia introduced me to the New Years Eve Game. You go around the group and each say a low light of the past year, a high light and something you want to achieve during the coming year. It’s fast become one of my favorite NYE traditions. In regards to the low light I usually don’t like to dwell on the negative but I do think that at least acknowledging that it happened and that you have moved on can be healthy and necessary.

So tonight when an end is met with a new beginning and the energy around us is slightly magnetic that’s what I’ll be doing surrounded by a few close friends (ok and a sneaky Champers).

So in preparation for tonight I thought I would play the New Years game with you all, I’ll get the ball rolling…

Low light- Breaking up with my boyfriend earlier in the year and all the feels that go with that.

High Light- Making up with said boyfriend and being better than ever.

What I want to achieve- On a personal level I would like to get into a better fitness regime and cut down on the Diet Coke. Life style wise I would like to buy a house and on a personal level I’m going to try to stop being such a fucking nag…..Even though I am very good at it.

I, like a lot of people have had my arse kicked several times in 2016 and to be honest I’m pretty happy to be leaving it behind. It wasn’t all doom and gloom, I most definitely had moments of sunshine and for that I am grateful.

Lastly I would like to thank you all for stopping by my little section of the interwebs, here’s to a happy and healthy 2017!

Cheers,

Caitlin xo
