What’s this? A wearing post? I know I know, I’ve been MIA on the wearing post front of late.
Most of you will know that I have been going through a rough patch recently, its not something I have delved deep into on here but the truth is that Mr.Twist and I have decided to part ways. A mutual decision that results in us still being good friends. That’s all I’m going to say on it as it’s not just my story to tell, but I wish him well.
I didn’t mean for that last part to rhyme but here we are.
I do love this blogging caper. In 3 short months it has already opened so many new doors for me and in turn lead me to meet some amazing new people. Some I have only ‘met’ online while others I have had the pleasure of meeting in the flesh.
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a sneak preview of the new HarlowAutumn/ Winter clothing launch.
Howdy folks, todays wearing posts is a little different on account of me not actually wearing any of these items (soon my pretties very soon) At the start of each season I generally go through my clothes and double check that im prepared for the weather and other such elements that are about to spring upon us.
I then go through and write a list that I chip away at during the season. Now if I had the bank balance of Kesha, I could just go buy this stuff now, but no I have to budget and space it out so my credit cards don’t beep angrily at me.
Well Hi there, fancy seeing you here! I know that’s largely my fault as I have been neglecting my little blog for the last week. Truthfully, I’m having a bit of a rough time of late and I needed to take care of myself, which meant having a slight blog break. Nothing to worry your pretty little heads over but sometimes you need to learn when to say when and put yourself first, so that’s what I did, that’s what I’m still doing.
I try to post Monday, Wednesday and Friday but from time to time I may skip a day as life does inevitably get in the way, I spoke to my blog boss (that’s me) and she’s cool with it.
When chatting about my blog with a friend of mine they mentioned how many clothes I must have. Truthfully I don’t think I do, I’ll admit I like an online shopping session just as much as the next gal but I think I use and re-use most of my wardrobe pretty well. I’m definitely a repeat offender in that respect.
I try to wear my clothes in different ways to make them feel like brand new ones, I always get a kick out of discovering a new outfit combination from my existing wardrobe. It makes me happy, probably happier than something so basic should to be honest. But hey, happy is happy so I’ll take it.
Recently I have decided to update my work wardrobe.
When ever I buy something new its always for my casual or dressy wardrobe, never work. For some reason I avoid it all all costs… literally.
To me buying work attire is the car registration equivalent of the clothing world, you know that thing you have to do but you don’t really want to do and would much prefer to spend your hard earned cashola on something shiny and pretty?
I work in an office but it is far from what I would call corporate, I can pretty much wear what I like as long as it looks smart and professional. This is why a lot of my ‘work wardrobe’ also doubles up as my ‘everyday casual wardrobe’.
I kinda love this time of year in Adelaide. The days are still warm (for the most part) but when the sun goes down and the air gets crisp it’s time to layer up.
My go to layer in Summer (and Autumn, Winter, Spring come to think of it) is a denim jacket. I almost always wear a dress of some kind and a denim jacket seems to go with most if not all of my current dress wardrobe.
After my weeks hiatus due to blog maintenance were back! Its Wednesday so lets get stuck into a wearing post.
A few weeks ago I was sent these pants by the lovely Sarah at Empress Eleven, I instantly adored them but could not bear the thought of putting on pants in the Adelaide heat we have been having. So when sweet relief finally came this week I knew exactly what to dig out of the ol’ wardrobe.
